Kareena Kapoor, the sizzling hot Kapoor babe of bollywood who played lead role in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘3 Idiots’ and visited the poor weavers of Chanderi village in Madhya Pradesh, has contributed Rs 3 lakh towards establishing a solar plant for supplying electricity to villagers.

Kareena Kapoor had promised the villagers that she would do something after returning to Mumbai and this was result of that. In fact, Kareena Kapoor was moved when poor villagers gifted her a hand-woven saree on her visit to the place. The bollywood beauty could see that the weavers had been doing their work in dimly lit candles, which put their eyes at great strain.

Through the solar power project, now the weavers would be able to get electricity for their work within two months. Sources say that Kareena Kapoor has not stopped at that and is consulting her colleagues about doing something bigger and more meaningful for the villagers of Chanderi to ameliorate their plight.

It may be recalled that Kareena Kapoor had even worn the same sari to the premiere of Aamir Khan starrer flick ‘3 Idiots’ in Mumbai to highlight the high quality of the product of the poor weavers. Even Aamir Khan was instrumental in giving a fillip to the marketing of Chanderi saris after his visit to the place.

Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor’s plan of owning an IPL team has come to a naught as the bidding process was cancelled on Sunday. In the new process to be started shortly, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are not interested much as they fear that it has become more cumbersome after lowering the restrictions for bidding parties.
