Individually, Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor are two of the Hindi film industry’s biggest stars and many have seen them as perfect choices to carry forward the Kapoor legacy. The cousins however, have ruled out any prospects of romancing each other on the big screen. But how long can they resist?

A report suggests that Love Aaj Kal director Imtiaz Ali wanted the duo to star in his next film Rockstar but Ashtavinayak Productions rejected the idea because of Kareena and Ranbir’s family ties.
Imtiaz felt that the Kapoors suited the roles perfectly but feared that the audience would not accept them romancing each other. The director now has to pick either Kareena or Ranbir. Since he has already worked with Kareena in Jab We Met, the chances of Ranbir bagging the role seem quite big. Imtiaz said that whoever shows him that they have dates first, bags his movie.
Speaking about acting with Ranbir, Kareena said that she and her cousin could do a film acting as a friends or as siblings. But as lovers? She is still not sure. “I don’t think so, and it would be my loss, because Ranbir is fantastic, he’s a brilliant actor. Acting is in his blood and he’s natural on screen. But I don’t know. Maybe Ranbir and I should do a film, but not as lovers… maybe if the audience wants to see us that way. He’s hot and good-looking and I like interesting roles. I like taking risks,” Kareena said.
