IT IS official now. The much-awaited film ‘3 Idiots‘ starring Aamir Khan, is all set for release during Christmas. This has been confirmed by an official at Vinod Chopra productions.There had earlier been media reports that the release of the film has been delayed, but this has put the supposition to rest.

The film is produced by Vinod Chopra and directed by Rajkumar Hirani of Munnabhai fame. It is based on Chetan Bhagat’s popular book, Five Point Someone. Thought the shooting for the film is complete, the unit is busy with post-production work. Besides Aamir Khan, the film also stars Kareena Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Madhavan and Boman Irani.

Actress Kareena Kapoor has decided that she would be going for more reserved and conscious roles these days. We are all used to Kareena’s role being the out-of-sight character, with strong and very assertive roles. Are we ready to let these images go just yet?

This time around however the Bollywood beauty has given up such roles and has taken up the role of a salwar-kameez-clad Punjabi role female in Raj Kumar Hirani’s film ‘Three Idiots’ as well as Rensil’s D’Silva’s ‘Kurbaan’.

“I play a quiet and nice Punjabi doctor”, says Kareena about the role she plays in ‘Three Idiots’. In ‘Kurbaan’, Kareena plays a role in the film that is close to her heart.

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani seems to have developed a penchant for authenticity. For his 2003 release Munnabhai MBBS, he shot the hospital
sequences in Pune University, but for his forthcoming film, 3 Idiots, he has shot the hospital scenes on location.

Actress Kareena Kapoor is known to be quite a sport, and even bend backwards when it comes to near and dear ones. But the actress, we hear, isn’t willing to succumb to Kambakkht Ishq producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s offer of doing an item number in his next movie ‘Houseful’. Reason? Sources state that Sajid isn’t dear anymore.

If talks are to be believed, Kareena isn’t too happy with the response Kambakkht Ishq garnered, and isn’t keen to work with Nadiadwala anymore. Talks also have it that Kareena Kapoor doesn’t get along too well with Deepika Padukone, who happens to be the female lead of Houseful, a film directed by Sajid Khan. So that gives her reason enough to decline this offer.

Kareena who is occacional meeting with directors Abbas Mustan suggested to her Ajnabee directors that they make a sequel to the movie, since she’d loved the original. She gave her word that she’d be a part of the film whenever the script was ready. According to reports, they have already begun working on the script and have been meeting with Kareena, giving her all the latest updates.

The race in Bollywood to see which actors get the coveted roles of Mark Wahlberg and Edward Norton in Abbas-Mustan’s official remake of
Hollywood’s 2003 hit, The Italian Job, is over.

And, the winners have been declared: Saif Ali Khan and Neil Nitin Mukesh respectively. The Hollywood film is itself a remake of the 1969 British original by the same name starring Michael Caine. And Abbas-Mastan, Bollywood’s masala-suspense filmmaking brothers, have been considering all our coolest actors from John Abraham to Ranbir Kapoor for the lead roles.

He is the latest heartthrob in tinsel town and there are many actresses who would love to be paired opposite him. But the two-film-old Imran Khan would rather share screen space with Kareena Kapoor than Aishwarya Rai.

“No,” said Imran when asked whether he is keen to work with former beauty queen-turned-actress Aishwarya. “I’m most keen to work with Kareena. Both of us shot for a chat show last week and I had great fun,” said Imran.
