Kareena Kapoor who features in the third chapter of Shobhaa De’s book on fashion that is expected to hit the stores by the year-end, insists that it will not probe into her personal life that is already under the media microscope, but will project her as a Bollywood style icon to the youth. “

It will offer information on my daily sense of style and my personal take on some of the characters I played, like Poo (Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, 2001), Chameli (Chameli, 2003), Dolly (Omkara, 2006) and Pia (3 Idiots, 2009) whose wardrobes made a fashion statement off-screen too,” says the actor.

What about Pooja from Tashan (2008) given that she triggered off the size zero phenomenon? “Of course size zero will figure, since it sparked off a national debate. That’s one subject associated with me that can never be forgotten,” retorts Kareena, who has written the foreward to her dietician friend, Rujuta Diwekar’s book, Women And The Weight Loss Tamasha.

Admitting that she lost weight for this particular Yashraj production that also brought her and beau Saif Ali Khan together, Kareena reasons, “I think I’m the best person to guide youngsters on how to knock off those not-needed pounds in the right way.”

Kareena hopes to launch her fashion line by the end of 2011. “Simple, ready-to-wear clothes that stand out for their casual chic, the kind that make up my everyday wardrobe. But bringing out a label takes times that’s in short supply this year,” sighs the actor who already has a clutch and a pizza named after her and is the brand ambassador for a Size Zero laptop. “I’m juggling with five big movies with the five Khans, Bodyguard, RA.One, Agent Vinod, Stand By Me and a still-untitled film with Aamir Khan. With these and my ad shoots, 24 hours is not enough,” she says.

Actor Shah Rukh Khan who has been a decent man on screen and off screen all this while, will now go bold for his superhero flick ‘Ra One’. There’s news that Shah Rukh will do everything and anything necessary to make his movie a rage.

However, this might have been an issue for the married superstar’s wife, Gauri Khan. The truth about the kiss will be divulged when Shahrukh Khan shares his experience about the film. Right now, Shahrukh Khan is avoiding any talk about the film, as the date of release is seven months away.
The cast of “Ra-One” includes Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Chinese actor Tom Wu. Reports confirm that Jackie Chan was also approached for a role in the movie, but he declined.
The movie is made in collaboration with a Hollywood action and special effects team. The stunts performed by Shahrukh Khan in the movie are also prepared by the stunt team hired by Khan’s production company from Hollywood.
The television broadcasting rights of “Ra-One” have been sold to Star India for 40 Crore, surpassing the 33 Crore of “3 Idiots”. “Ra-One” has now officially become the highest sold bollywood film.
The movie promotion will start in the end of August this year. The expected releasing date of “Ra-one” is told to be 26th October 2011.

Leaving behind a not-so-great 2010, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor is all set to explore various genres in the new year with five films in the pipeline.

While ‘Ra.One’ with Shah Rukh Khan is the biggest of all, there is also ‘Bodyguard’ with ‘Dabangg’ star Salman Khan.

The 30-year-old actress will be seen opposite boyfriend Saif Ali Khan in ‘Agent Vinod’ and Imran Khan in ‘Short Term Shaadi’. She is also in talks to star with Aamir Khan in a yet untitled psychological thriller.

Considering she has one hit ‘Golmaal 3′ and two flops, ‘We Are Family’ and ‘Milenge Milenge’, in 2010, the new year sure holds a lot of excitement for the actress.

“There has been a conscious call to pick different genres from the films that excite me most. Earlier also I have done films like ‘Omkara’ and ‘Chameli’ which weren’t exactly mainstream. Last year’s ‘We Are Family’ was a difficult role. Now 2011 would have a mix of different subjects and films as well,” Kareena told PTI.

She took the industry by storm turning size zero for ‘Tashan’ and Kareena says she won’t stop experimenting with her looks and body.

“Everyone would unanimously agree and state that this was one actor who tried hard. I have constantly tried to reinvent myself. One has to because there is no formula for what would eventually work and what wouldn’t. You can’t gauge that when you first take a plunge,” she said.

The actress has now put the entire debate surrounding size zero behind her and wants the audience to see a different side of her.

“To get into a physical transformation is not an easy thing to do. When I came forward with a size zero figure, I enjoyed it. Now for my films to come, there is a different Kareena that audience will see. The one who is on the slightly voluptous side,” she said.

Kareena is also proud of the fact that she is the only actress in the history of Indian cinema to have two films to her name which have done a business of over 100 crores. While ‘Golmaal 3′ has raked in around 110 crores, ’3 Idiots’ had a total exceeding 300 crores.

“It is indeed amazing that two of my films have done such bumper business. Also, to have two of your films do such terrific business in quick succession would make any actor proud,” said Kareena.

‘Golmaal 3′ released last Diwali, while ’3 Idiots’ hit screens in Christmas 2009.

“God has been kind to give me this success. Festive seasons are pretty much working for me. Now on Eid comes ‘Bodyguard’ and then in Diwali it would be ‘Ra.One’. I am sure my lucky stint with festivals would continue in 2011 as well,” said Kareena.

‘3 Idiots’ co-star of Aamir Khan and one of the most versatile actresses of Bollywood Kareena Kapoor had an average 2010. The early part of the year was ruled by 3 Idiots that had released on Christmas 2009 but, thereafter, she didn’t quite rule the roost.
1. Box Office success: 3 of her films got released in 2010- ‘Milenge Milenge’, ‘We Are Family’ and ‘Golmaal 3’ of which the previous two fell flat at the box office. However, Golmaal 3 compensated for the losses and raked in rich dividends going on to become one of the biggest commercial successes of 2010.
2. Performance: Kareena Kapoor was exceptional in her varying roles and did a commendable job. Be it the destiny-believer Priya Malhotra of ‘Milenge Milenge’ or the love-hate mom of ‘We Are Family’ or the feisty Daboo of ‘Golmaal 3’, she was a delight to watch.

Saif Ali Khan is working with Deepika Padukone in his third home production film but Kareena doesn’t have any problem on this.

We saw Katrina Kaif using her ‘Rajneeti’ to an advantageous effect in boosting her career. Despite facing linguistic barriers, Katrina earned quite a few brownie points for her de-glam role in Prakash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti.’
Now, actress Kareena Kapoor is donning similar shades. Grapevine has it that the ‘3 Idiots’ actress has been approached to play the lead female in a political drama helmed by Sudhir Mishra and produced by Farhan Akhtar.

The film is titled ‘Bhrub’ and is about a man who is the all-powerful heir to a political family. Kareena plays a significant and female-oriented role in this drama. Hence, it would be a nice change from the usual glamorous roles for which the sexy hottie is known for.
However, this is not the first time that Kareena has gone de-glam for a film. She earlier snubbed the make ups for her strong character of a prostitute in ‘Chameli’ that brought her many trophies and accolades.
Now, director Sudhir Mishra is eager to cash in on Kareena’s inherent talent. But how will Kareena perform in her Rajneeti avatar? Can she use the political chair like the deft Katrina or will this be just another of those films that goes awry at the last moment? We would have to wait and watch!
