As the ambassador of Globus, the gorgeous Kapoor heiress played an important role in reviving the sales of the brand. Then she became very big for the brand and her contract wasn’t renewed after two seasons.

Manish Malhotra is one of the few Indian designers she swears by and she has been his muse too. Aki Narula, who thinks Kareena is the most stylish Indian actress, is her stylist of the moment as he has successfully styled her look in Kambakkht Ishq, Tashan and the upcoming Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna. Bebo, however, doesn’t want to associate herself with any other Indian designer or brand anymore. When it comes to Indian outfits like sarees, lehengas and salwar suits, she turns to Manish Malhotra but she relies on international brands like DvF, D&G and Cavalli when it comes to Western outfits. She loves shoes from YSL and Christian Louboutin.

If sources are to be believed she will tie up with an international fashion line to launch her own collection which will be called Kareena. She is all set to tour Los Angeles and Paris and meet with the who’s who of fashion. Roberto Cavalli, Jean Paul Gaultier, Donatella Versace and Christian Lacroix are the brands her agents at Matrix (modeling agency) are in touch with. In fact, Kareena is a huge fan of Roberto Cavalli and wears his leopard or animal print outfits all the time.

Kareena will sign a whopping multi-million dollar deal with either one of these high-end fashion houses. All of them are members of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in France and don’t have a foothold in India unlike Salvatore Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Gucci. So in a way, through her signature line, she wants to bring them to India. Undeniably, Kareena has a huge fan following and is considered a style icon par excellence, so people will want to buy whatever she is associated with. The question is will it be affordable?

A grand launch has been planned for Kareena’s eponymous line. Like Globus super-successful campaign, there will be a luxe nationwide ad campaign and a sophisticated national launch in Mumbai, once the deal is finalized.

Kareena, who wanted to launch a fashion blog earlier and was invited to a Christian Dior fashion show in Paris in the recent past, is excited yet tight-lipped about the fashionable venture. She said she will be shooting for KJo’s Stepmom for the next three months, after which she has planned a holiday. She also said that she will squeeze her trips to Paris and LA in her schedule and will make an official announcement only when all the details have been worked out.

John Abraham is one of the few Indian actors who ventured into the fashion arena with his JA for Wrangler line. It was fairly reasonable and successful. There have been rumours about Kangna Ranaut and Malaika Arora Khan launching their fashion lines.

Bollywood actress, Kareena Kapoor tried a whopping sixty pair of shoes for her much-awaited film, Kambakkht Ishq, according to reports. Since Kareena plays a supermodel in this Kareena-Akshay flick, she was required to experiment with her look. Her designer and stylist for the movie, Aki Narula who also gave her a completely different avtaar in Tashan said he had tried out something completely new this time with Bebo. During the press meet, Kareena even went ahead and said cheekily that more shots of her shoes were than her face. However she said that she was extremely excited about her new look in the movie and that trying on so many shoes was a lot of fun! Kambakkht Ishq is slated for July 3 release.

Firebrand Kareena Kapoor looked gorgeous in a white outfit with splashes of colour at Kambakkht Ishq’s first promotional event. The superstar actor spoke to StarBoxOffice about working with Akshay Kumar, wearing a swimsuit again, her glamorous clothes and why Saif will always be on top.

Your character in the film is called Simrita Rai. Tell us more about her.
Simrita is a feminist. She doesn’t like love, she doesn’t like men and she doesn’t like relationships. The reasons for all this are established in the film. Actually, what happens to her and how and why she falls in love forms the story of Kambakkht Ishq.

This is the seventh time you are working with Akshay Kumar. How did it feel?
I love working with Akshay and feel very comfortable with him. I have known him since I was a kid. Akshay gave his first shot with Karisma in the film Deedar. I was in my school uniform when I saw him give the shot. Today, I am working with him. He is one of India’s biggest superstars. He feels like family to me. I am good friends with his wife Twinkle. It is great fun to work with him. He is my favourite co-star and one of the biggest superstars in India. He is India’s true action hero. I want him to be at the top. All my wishes and prayers are with him.

If you want Akshay to be at the top, what will happen to Saif?
Saif is at the top anyway!

How was it working with your best friend, Amrita Arora?
Working with Amrita is fun. I worked with her in Golmaal Returns and it did well, so I hope KI does well too.

Tell us about your look in the film.
Aki Narula has styled my look in the film. He bought the clothes, which are non-filmy, from Rome and Milan. There are no sequins and bling and stuff you normally see in Hindi films. The costumes are very chic, understated and classy, which you don’t normally see. I love shoes. Everyday, there were sixty pairs of shoes to choose from and I picked the best for the shot. I get lots of messages on my phone about the look. I am glad people like it.

How different is Kareena Kapoor from Simrita Rai?
Simrita Rai is a feminist, I am not. Simrita is a tough nut to crack, which I am not and she is very insensitive, which I am not. To play characters that are very different from our true selves-that is where the fun lies.

Weren’t you apprehensive about working with Sabbir Khan, who is a new director?
I have always worked with new directors. Even when I worked with Imtiaz (Ali), he was a new director as Jab We Met was his second film. My faith lies in the script more than anything else. Anybody can make a good film. Sabbir has done a great job.

The film has words like ‘Bitch’ and ‘Bastard’ which the Censor Board had a problem with. Do you think it’s justified in the film?
Definitely! It fits perfectly in the film. You will know when you see the film. We see English films all the time, and the language is foul, so why are we making such a big deal of the dialogues of KI.

How was it shooting in Hollywood with a Hollywood cast and crew?
I love Los Angeles and the weather was great. We had a Hollywood crew; they were very helpful. I just have one scene with Denise Richards and two with Sylvester Stallone. They are as normal as normal can get. It was amazing talking to Sylvester Stallone about movies and just sitting next to him was such an honour.

Tashan also starred you and Akshay and there was a lot of focus on your look in the film. So how was making KI different from making Tashan?
Tashan was tiring as I had to maintain a figure that sent the national economy in a tizzy. I challenged myself to do action and also changed my body type for it. Nobody expected that. KI is different. The girl needed to be more fashionable with a fuller and voluptuous figure. I wore a bikini in Tashan and have worn a swimsuit in KI. I don’t know why it is such a big deal because people don’t wear jeans when they go swimming. I will mould myself according to my roles.

We have heard the title song and it’s great. What is your favourite song in the film?
A song in the movie has my name, Bebo, in it. That is my favourite.

Bebo, Bebo, aye Bebo Bebo! Wasn’t there a song like this which was a bit hit in the discos? Here’s hoping Kareena has the same luck with her new film.

Kareena Kapoor may love the song-and-dance routine that Bollywood films are known for, but for her next film she has opted for a non-filmi look.
Designer Aki Narula who has created the look for Kareena said, “Kareena will sport a mis-n-match kind of a look this time around, so that the character seems real.

The clothes won’t be over the top for sure. I am sure that the trend will catch on and look very real on screen.” Kareena adds, “Though it is a hardcore commercial film, I have consciously chosen non-filmi clothes.”

HiTLIST reported that Shahid Kapoor was planning an intimate gathering of friends and family for his 27th birthday (February 25) at his home (Hitlist, Feb 20, Shahid Kapur’s secret b’day plans) The party happened as reported the birthday night.

What’s even more interesting was that when ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor learnt about Shahid’s party, she planned an impromptu dinner party at Saif’s Bandra home the same night.

Says a source, “Shahid’s bash was at a lounge bar of a suburban five-star hotel. The guestlist had Vidya Balan, Amrita Rao and Priyanka Chopra all of whom he has been romantically linked to! Meanwhile, ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor was not invited.

Others included Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder, his Kaminey director Vishal Bhardwaj, Sajid and Wardha Nadiadwala, Ken Ghosh, Ahmed Khan and wife Shaira, designer Shabina Khan and trainer Abbas.”

Shahid was shooting in Jodhpur for Yash Raj’s next with Rani Mukherjee and flew down for a day for the party. He came on Tuesday and boarded for a flight back yesterday morning.

Apart from B-Town folk, the party also included Shahid’s dad Pankaj and stepmom Supriya Kapoor, their children Rohan and Sanaa, Shahid’s brother Ishaan (Shahid’s mother Neelima Azim and Rajesh Khattar’s son) Shahid’s close friend from Bangalore, Shriram were also present.

Bebo had a party? A source adds, “When Kareena heard about Shahid’s party at Sajid Nadiadwala’s party on Tuesday night, she immediately decided to host her own at Saif’s Bandra home though hers was a gathering of select friends like designer Aki Narula, her make-up artiste, Mallika Bhatt, designer Shabina Khan (who was also invited to Shahid’s party), Amrita Arora, Malaika Arora Khan, Arbaaz Khan and a few others.”

A source close to Kareena says, “What rubbish! Kareena didn’t throw any party. She was shooting double shifts for Rensil D’ Silva’s next and some patchwork for Kambakht Ishq. Maybe designer Akki Narula threw some party but Bebo wasn’t involved in it.”
