Life is hectic for Kareena Kapoor. She doesn’t even have time to meet her family and friends. “I catch up with them on the phone when commuting. It would’ve been nice to spend time with Saif (boyfriend Saif Ali Khan) at Cannes, but I have to shoot for Bodyguard. This year people are fighting for an hour of my time,” admits Kareena, who has three big releases to look forward to this year, starting with Bodyguard this Eid. The Salman Khan-starrer will be followed by the superhero fantasy film RA.One with Shah Rukh Khan that is due to release on October 26.

Her two songs from RA.One Chamak challo… and Shake my booty… have already gained popularity, but she’s quick to point out that, “they’re not item songs. One is desi dhinchak and the other is a sexy, western and groovy track.” And towards the wee end of the year, Kareena’s Bond-Bourne kind of spy thriller with Saif is due.

Agent Vinod was supposed to be a summer release. But according to her, since it’s a big action film, the stunts have taken more time. “I’ll go back to shooting it in July and it should be out by December,” she promises, refuting rumours that the film’s been delayed because she gave her dates to Reema Kagti’s film with Aamir Khan. “They’re canning the action sequences now and don’t need me. The date adjustments were made by Karan (Johar) and Atul (Agnihotri), not Saif. I’d just committed to Karan’s Short Term Shaadi with Imran Khan, when the Aamir film came along in the same week. And these two months were booked for Bodyguard.”

So, what’s it like to a festival girl? “Great!” she beams. “Last Diwali, I had a blockbuster in Golmaal 3 and then, 3 Idiots brought along plenty of Christmas cheer. Hopefully, both Eid and Diwali will be big this year with Salman and Shah Rukh. I don’t mind being No. 100 on any power list as long as I top the film lists with the best banners. And on that count, 2011 is special!”

Kareena Kapoor’s prominent absence from the trailers and posters of Ra.One has raised a lot of speculation as to whether or not she is important to the film. As of now, neither the 10-second teaser, nor the more detailed 30-second version shows even a hint of the leading lady.

A film enthusiast says, “One would expect a superstar like Kareena Kapoor to be a part of the 30-second trailer at least.” However, an unfazed Anubhav Sinha, the director of Ra.One maintains that Bebo is an integral part of the film. “You don’t rope in an actress like Kareena and then not utilise her potential to the fullest. Rest assured, she plays a wonderful role in the film,” asserts Anubhav, without getting into details. Although the authenticity of this claim will only be known in about six months from now, one still wonders if Bebo’s job in the film will be limited to adding some extra star value. “All I can say is that, it took me and Shah Rukh a fairly long while to zero in on an actress to play the part. And only casting of important characters takes that much time. But I won’t speak any further. As of now, just wait and watch,” says the director. Given the amount of money riding on his back, he had better do justice to the suspense.

True to his name, whatever King Khan does, he does it King size! Having gotten international star Akon to record for some songs for his most awaited Ra.One, Shah Rukh Khan seems to be leaving no stone unturned to make these songs visually appealing to the audience as well. And one person who is highly impressed by this is the director himself, Anubhav Sinha.

Anubhav, who for the last 15 years had dreamed of shooting a song with SRK, finally got his wished fulfilled and he seemed so excited by this fact that he couldn’t stop tweeting about it. Talking about this ‘magical’ star who in his words ‘turns every moment into a monument’, Anubhav confessed on the social networking site Twitter, “BTW a Director’s confession. @iamsrk(SRK’s twitter name) is so good with songs that I am having flashes of turning into audience at the shoot. Joy to watch.” Kareena Kapoor (“she dances like a dream!” says Sinha), Shahana Goswami and Chinese-American actor Tom Wu soon joined in the shoot. Choreographed by Ganesh and composed by Vishal-Shekhar, the song has apparently turned out to be really great and the crew feels that it is going to be one of the best songs of the year. Shahana, who hasn’t really done a song-and-dance routine before was rather pleased with her glamorous look as she excitedly tweeted, “Getting ready for the song in RaOne! Really excited.. My first time really. No idea what’s in store for me! ” Even Manish Malhotra, who has designed the costumes for Kareena and was present on the set, seemed pretty excited by the song picturisation.

Well, we would really like to see this song which everyone is going ga-ga about. Though Anubhav failed on his promise to upload some pictures from the song shoot, we bring to you some stills from the Ra.one sets. And as soon as the song will be out, we promise to bring you the first look.

She is perhaps amongst the luckiest of actresses to have upcoming films/ under production ventures with all the four major Khans. It can be called a co-incidence of sorts that Kareena has upcoming films with all the four major Khans but the actress credits her own personal relationship with all of them and excellent work equation that has resulted in her doing films with all of them simultaneously, a rare feat indeed. Kareena accepts that she has been fortunate enough to have balanced it out with all of them and is extremely happy that so far it has worked out very well.

The flick is scheduled to hit the theatres on 3rd june, 2011.

A jasoos is telling me that Shah Rukh Khan is mighty excited these days. After returning from his long chutti, which he spent across Europe, he’s back to the gruelling schedule of Anubhav Sinha’s Ra.One. And he’s now excited about shooting with Kareena Kapoor. My tweety

bird has told me this morning that in the film, Bebo jaan has some dialogues in Chinese, which she has been burning the midnight oil to learn. And Khan is being so supportive.
He sits with her for hours and helps her rehearse. His other attraction on the set is the bunch of ‘kars’ (yes, that’s how he spells cars) that have been brought in to complete the sci-fi look of the film. Now, I really am looking forward to watching kars, Kareena and Khan!

Kareena will be seen playing a mother in two upcoming releases — the Karan Joharproduced We Are Family and Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra. 1 . We Are Family is the remake of the 1998 Hollywood blockbuster, Stepmom , with Kareena reprising Julia Robert’s role. She will be seen as the stepmom to the kids of Kajol, who will play the role done by Susan Sarandon in the original.

In the Anubhav Sinha – directed Ra. 1 , Kareena will be seen as the glamorous mother of an eight – year – old. It is believed that the actress will cut a rather oomphy picture of a modern – day mom in the film, flaunting outfits designed by her costume designer friend Manish Malhotra.

“ I play a very regular metro – centric working girl in We Are Family . I walk, talk, dress like a working girl. Also, I’ll be using no make – up in the film,” Kareena said about her role.

In contrast, her look in Ra. 1 will be ultra chic, ranging from short dresses to skirts to tight – fitting tops. Designer Malhotra earlier said Ra. 1 was based in London. So, Kareena needed to dress accordingly.

Kareena was believed to be looking absolutely gorgeous in Ra. 1 despite playing a mother. Reportedly, SRK’s wife Gauri — officially the film’s producer — was impressed with Kareena’s stunning looks after watching the initial rushes.

Kareena is the only actress among Bollywood’s top divas to play a mother. Her rivals, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra have all avoided playing a screen mother.

In Bollywood, it’s generally considered a big risk for top heroines to play such a role. Till date, only older actresses such as Kajol and Juhi Chawla have played mother’s roles.

Aishwarya Rai – Bachchan and c went for the motherly image in Kuch Naa Kaho and Kyunki Main Jhooth Nahi Bolta respectively. But those films flopped. Coming back to We Are Family , Malhotra had a hard time bringing down Kareena’s glamour – quotient and make her look like an ordinary working woman. That’s why Kareena’s clothes designed by Malhotra will be less glamorous in this film than what is generally associated with a glam Bebo.

In We Are Family , directed by Siddharth Malhotra, Kareena will also be seen donning a new hairstyle. She has already stated that the Bollywood version of Stepmom is very different from the original.

“ My role is also a big departure from what Julia Roberts played in Stepmom ,” she said.

Meanwhile, Kareena is all set to start shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar’s next film, Heroine , in which her role is believed to be inspired by Hollywood classic beauty Marilyn Monroe. Currently, she is wrapping up the final schedules of Golmaal 3 and Ra. 1

This all has been necessitated by the fact that Shah Rukh Khan’s most trusted man Bobby Chawla, who is also actress Juhi Chawla’s brother, has been in the hospital for a long time and is unable to perform his duties.

Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan would totally depend on the work of Bobby Chawla who was also the CEO of Red Chillies Entertainment. Shah Rukh Khan was even by the side of Bobby Chawla at the hospital for several days, but eventually work got priority and he returned to shoot for Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Ra.1’.

‘Ra 1’ is an ambitious flick from Shah Rukh Khan’s production house starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and others in prominent roles. Shah Rukh Khan plays a famous scientist in the film, who is based in London and working on developing a robot.

The trouble starts after Shah Rukh Khan has developed the ‘Robot’and his own creation would not listen to him. So much so that the Robot becomes a menace to whole world and the scientist prepares to remove him from this world.

Kareena Kapoor plays Shah Rukh Khan’s wife who stays with him in London. The couple also has an eight year old son.
