The success of Golmaal 3 bears testament to the fact that straight-out commercial entertainers shall never die down. Which is why, even though she’s currently working on four projects that belong to that genre, Kareena Kapoor seems just as upbeat about a fourth edition to the Golmaal franchise. “Talks about it are underway. But I don’t think it’ll happen next year. So perhaps the year after that,” the actor says.
Her run of hit movies aside, Kapoor is just as keen to venture into art-house cinema, a dream that is mired by both the kinds of roles she’s now getting and what she calls the ‘irony of Bollywood.’ “The Golmaal franchise might not be a classic masterpiece, but even classic masterpieces don’t always do well. So the fact still remains that ours is an entertainment-crazy nation, and films that focus on entertainment shall do well,” she adds.

Bollywood hottie Kareena Kapoor has christened flashy Salman Khan as ‘Rajnikanth of Bollywood’. The actress is of the opinion that none but Salman Khan has a massive fan following and an incredible mass appeal in Bollywood, thereby outshining all other stars. Apparently, Salman is very much like south Indian superstar Rajnikanth in this respect.

Talking to reporters, the gorgeous lady said, “He`s the only phenomenon the industry has. He`s a natural born actor. Whatever he does becomes a craze. To me, he`s the Rajnikanth of Bollywood.”

Kareena Kapoor chose to lavish kith, kin and pals with serene white Buddhas, which she believed would usher in peace and prosperity. The other Kapoors, Anil and Sonam, bagged the bigger glory with their smart gifting, as they decided to invest a lot more brightness into the lives of those they valued. Hah, quite literally.

Reportedly, Kapoor sent out huge designer candles in bronze boxes that had Buddha statues on their lids to all their well wishers. Anil Kapoor, who’s famed for his generosity turns red with embarrassment over the spate of compliments received over his gifts… and swiftly passes on the credit to spouse Sunita who expressly designed them.

Even as Dhrama Production managed to avert a collision between their film We Are Family and the Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg, they seem to have walked into yet another clash with something bigger – Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated sci-fi film Robot.

The film will release as Endhiran in Tamil and Yanthram in Telugu on September 3 – the same day as We Are Family and a week ahead of Dabangg. This could wipe out the majority of collections of these Bollywood movies in the south.
