Kareena Kapoor feels that she has managed to strike the right balance between commercial and meaningful cinema. The actress likes doing different roles and can’t do just those films where she is looking pretty and singing and dancing. The actress considers her debut film ‘Refugee’ (2000), a special one because she always wanted to prove herself as an actress and not to just as a glam doll. Bebo further says films like ‘Refugee’, ‘Chameli’, ‘Omkara’, ‘Jab We Met’, ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Kurbaan’ – all have been very different. She doesn’t think that any other actress has been able to do such a variety of roles in such a short journey.

Kareena inspires co-actors

Must say Kareena Kapoor sure does set trends! My birdy from Bandra tells me that it’s not just her fashion and style that many take inspiration from, but also the words she uses. In the recent times, her co-actors from We Are Family and Golmaal 3 have added her two favourites to

their list of most used words. I’m informed that whenever she likes anything, Bebo has just one word for it, ‘fab.’ And if something puts her off then it’s ‘shindy.’
So while Arjun Rampal, Karan Johar and Siddharth Malhotra adopted the Kapoor kudi’s chahite shabd while working on We Are Family, Tusshar Kapoor picked it up during the Golmaal 3 spell. I must agree Bebo sure has a fab way of inspiring everyone around her. Hai na?

For months, says Kareena Kapoor, she hasn’t slept for more than four hours every night because of overflowing work commitments. But, she’s happy being where she is – professionally. Ask her about the obvious comparisons between her real role as a stepmother (almost) to Saif’s children and her reel role as a younger one in Siddharth Malhotra’s ” We Are Family”, and she is quick to bury any such references. “It’s a role that I am playing, in professional capacity and it is part of that world only .

It’s a known fact that Kareena Kapoor is easily ruling from the top as far as the demand for a commercially viable glamorous actress with very good acting skills is concerned. Satisfying all the key words here – ‘commercial’, ‘glamour’ and ‘acting’ – Kareena has seen it all pretty up, close and personal during last decade that she has spent in the industry.

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor had earlier expressed her wish to act with her big sister Karisma Kapoor but not in the much-hyped film We Are Family. She thinks that Karisma can’t play the role played by Kajol.

Buzz up!
Kareena said that Karisma couldn’t do the film, as the film required them to marry the same man. She added that both Karisma and Kajol are mothers and have the experience of raising children in real life.

Kareena Kapoor briefly played a mother in her debut film, JP Dutta’s Refugee, a decade ago. This week, she’ll step into Julia Roberts’ shoes to play a mother to three of her boyfriend’s (Arjun Rampal) kids with his ex-wife (Kajol) in Karan Johar’s We Are Family. Next, she turns

Ask her if she’s discovered maternal instinct and Kapoor admits, “I’m not prepared for motherhood right now. I’m still a kid and there’s time before I can drift towards marriage and family.” Does beau Saif Ali Khan agree with her? “I need to do a little more growing up first,” she smiles.

Siddharth Malhotra’s directorial debut We Are Family — starring Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal — will release this week. But not many know about him and his family.

Siddharth belongs to a filmi family — his grandparents Premnath and Bina Rai were popular actors. His father Prem Krishen was an actor and producer, who owns a production company called Cinevista. So films was a natural step for Siddharth.

He assisted Vidhu Vinod Chopra on the film Kareeb, when he was only 15 years old. He did a filmmaking course from New York University, and then went on to assist Karan Johar on Kal Ho Naa Ho.

Try cornering Karan Johar and chances are that you would get a totally different spin to the story, something that would make you go by the flow offered by him. It wasn’t many days back when there was a strong buzz around how Ajay Devgn was not too pleased about the prominence that Kajol was getting in the promotional drive of We Are Family. It was said that he felt Kareena Kapoor was placed equal to Kajol, something which was sacrilege since she was a decade junior to the powerhouse performer who had proven her mettle once again with My Name Is Khan earlier this year. However, try probing the producer about it and he comes back with a cheeky response.
