Freida Pinto the heroine of oscar award winning film slum dog millionaire has leaped ahead of her Indian rivals to become the highest paid actress in Bollywood, a news report said.

After the huge success of Slumdog, which won eight Oscars and whose worldwide box office receipts so far are estimated at over $ 270 million, the Indian model-turned-actress has bagged a series of lucrative roles with top directors, including Woody Allen and Julian Schnabel.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, she has pushed ahead of her colleagues Kareena Kapoor , Katrina Kaif and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, to become the highest paid actress in India.

Luck hasn’t yet favoured Sonam at box office as both her films Saawariya and Delhi 6 tanked after a good opening.

She may not have even a hit movie in her filmography as yet, but the girl surely knows how to snatch the no.1 position already acquired by the top leading actresses of the Bollywood.

Noted filmmaker Sudhir Mishra has once again roped in his lucky mascot Chitrangada Singh to play a power-broker in politics in his upcoming venture ‘Dhruv’. Along with his apparently favourite actress, Sudhir has also cast none other than Kareena Kapoor in the role of a politician for the film.

In the film, which would also star Farhan Akhtar, Chitrangada will play a femme fatale of politics and the underworld.

Confirming the news, Sudhir said, “Both, Kareena and Chitrangada are so different in beauty, talent and personality that I’ve conceived two dramatic sequences featuring them. In terms of their looks, screen presence and the characters, Kareena and Chitrangada are poles apart.”

This one’s come as a big surprise, especially because it involves Kareena Kapoor. The feisty girl, who’s never worried about calling a spade a spade, has not really been know for her friendly skills especially when rival actresses are involved.

Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor and her actor-boyfriend Saif Ali Khan raised temperature when the couple rocked dance floor at Amrita Arora’s wedding ceremony in Mumbai on Thursday.

Close friend of Amrita, Kareena also made the bride shake a leg with her.

That’s right!  There’s another film starring real life couple, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan!  With the success of last year’s film, ‘Race’ which featured Saif Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Anil Kapoor and Akshaye Khanna, it seems like the producers, the directors, Abaas Mustan and actors Saif and Anil all want to create a sequel (something Bollywood’s been doing more and more of as late).  It features some of the old cast members, but alas some have been given the pink slip!

Miss India Worldwide pageant 2009 is going to be a combination of glitz, glamour and talent. More glamour will be added to the show by serene beauty Katrina Kaif and ravishing Kareena Kapoor and they will be joined by sultry Yana Gupta. They will set the stage on fire by their dynamic performance.

Bollywood actor Deepak Tijori whose company is hosting the show with Kaleidovision, said at a press conference: “There will be a mix of beauty, talent and glamour at the finale of the pageant, with Bollywood beauties shaking a leg with the participants. It will be an evening to remember.”
