Initially when we heard that the film was going to be released during Diwali, we were not very sure about the final outcome of the film as if the big Diwali release did not do well, then we would be in a mess and the year to come will also be a bad one. But then, things worked out a lot better as there wasn’t just a great anticipation for the film, but the film lived up to its expectations. Now when you look back, you feel the release timing was as good as the movie.

He decided to welcome the international rap singer Akon in a traditional manner and showered him with flowers, whereas his heroine of Ra. One Kareena Kapoor put ‘tikka’ on his forehead and garlanded him. And when Shahrukh noticed that flummoxed look on Akon, he quipped with a dimpled smile, “In India, once the actress garlands you, you are married to the hero.” And when a member of the press pointed out that how all three of them wore black and white, Shahrukh remarked, “Now that we are married we will be coordinating clothes as well.”

20090313-0Bollywood superhit Jab We Met is being remade in Tamil with Tamanna and Bharath in lead roles.

Starring Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur in lead roles, the Hindi movie by director Imtiaz Ali told the story of a feisty Punjabi girl who meets a stranger on a train and befriends him. While the man gradually falls in love with the girl, she remains confused about her feelings.

The Tamil remake is being directed by Mani Ratnam’s protégé Kannan and jointly produced by Moser Baer and Blue Ocean Entertainment.
