Madhur shelves Kareena Kapoor’s Heroine

Noted film maker, Madhur Bhandarkar, was working on the script of the film titled “Heroine” from quite some time. Through earlier press interactions we were told by Madhur that the movie was a biopic on the life of Hollywood actress Marilyn Monroe, Madhur also confirmed the news that Kareena Kapoor has been finalized to play the role of Marilyn.

However now the report is that Madhur has finally shelved the movie/script forever, as per sources, Kareena Kapoor kept on suggesting changes in the script to make the role suit her image, this wasn’t liked by the director much as he is interested in realistic form of cinema, and is known to bring reality to screen rather than focusing the image of the stars working in his films.

Strong reports suggest that Kareena Kapoor and Madhur Bhandarkar, who had decided to start work on Heroine, may not end up doing the film together — at least not yet.

Though earlier Bebo was very excited about her association with Madhur, who is fantastic with women-oriented subjects, a source says, “The first round of stories suggested that Madhur was making a film based on the life of Hollywood sex symbol Marilyn Monroe. Later, others suggested he was doing a Sunset Boulevard kind of a film. As the speculations continued, it turned out that Kareena had not even had a complete story narration.”

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor might have shared some hot and intimate scenes with her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan in Kurbaan but she is adamant not to repeat it. The latest we hear is that Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine has been pushed to the backseat, as Kareena is not happy with love-making scenes.

Her role is said to be based on several actresses including Marilyn Monroe and Divya Bharti. But surprisingly, the director is said to have been forced to rewrite the love-making portion after the actress expressed her displeasure.

Not long ago, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor was going gaga over Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Heroine, which is based on the life of Marilyn Monroe but things have turned sour even before its take off. The latest buzz we hear is that Madhur is not happy with Kareena for giving preference to Karan Johar’s film to his film Heroine.

It is said that Madhur was planning to start the shooting of Heroine soon after the completion of Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji next month. He had approached Kareena for the film soon after Fashion. However, she has decided to move on to act with Imran Khan in a film to be produced by Karan and directed by debutante Shakun Batra, which would take off in December.

Kareena will be seen playing a mother in two upcoming releases — the Karan Joharproduced We Are Family and Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra. 1 . We Are Family is the remake of the 1998 Hollywood blockbuster, Stepmom , with Kareena reprising Julia Robert’s role. She will be seen as the stepmom to the kids of Kajol, who will play the role done by Susan Sarandon in the original.

Madhur Bhandarkar has said that Heroine with be the greatest movie of Kareena Kapoor’s acting career.

The award-winning director also revealed that he strongly believes in Kapoor’s talents as an actress.

“Kareena has been wanting to work with me for quite a long time. But due to some reasons we have not been able to team up. She blindly trusts me and my talent and the feeling is mutual,” Bhandarkar told Mid Day.

“This is going to be Kareena’s best performance of her life. I can guarantee that. She is a talented artist and she will be in her full bloom in this one.”

Madhur lines up a bevy of stars to inspire Bebo

Kareena Kapoor will draw inspiration from four Hollywood icons – Ava Gardner, Vivien Leigh, Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe – for Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Heroine. She plays a Bollywood actress in it. Bhandarkar has specially prepared a documentary featuring the four legends for Kareena to prepare for her role.

If the absence of Bollywood greats from Kareena’s method preparation for the role amazes you, Bhandarkar’s explanation for it is even more baffling. “I haven’t found anything interesting about Indian actresses,” he declares.
