Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter is yet to complete filming for debut film and she has already been signed on by Pankaj Kapoor for his directorial debut Mausam opposite son Shahid Kapoor.

“The film was originally written by Mr. Kapoor keeping Kareena and Shahid in mind. When he had begun working on the script, Shahid and Kareena were still very much together. And so it was kind of understood that the two would work in the film together. But then they split up and Mr. Kapoor had to start looking for a new leading lady for his film,” says a source from the film’s production house.

“The film has been written keeping Shahid in mind. For Pankaj there was no one else but Shahid who could play the lead. And that’s why he waited till January to take the film on the floor,” adds our source.

Mausam is a complete romantic film. It will be largely shot abroad with some schedules in India.

“Shahid plays a naval officer in the Mausam. He has completely got into the role in terms of the look. And so he is staying away from the cameras till then. It will be shot in UK, Spain, Austria and Italy.”

After Pankaj Kapoor witnessed the remarkable chemistry between Shahid and Kareena in ‘Jab We Met’, he set out for another romantic project ‘Mausam’ keeping the Shahid-Kareena jodi in mind, but things took an opposite turn when the couple broke off. The film is of an romantic genre and will be shot in five countries- UK, Spain, Italy, Austria and India. It is expected to start in January 2010.

Now, Pankaj Kapoor is in a fix regarding the female lead for his directorial venture and has decided to go for an international hunt for the female lead of the film. Also, Pankaj couldn’t get a producer for a long time. Finally, Religare Vistaar Entertainment stepped in to produce the film.

When Kareena came to know about the entire episode, she said that if the script and the role was good, she had no problems working with Shahid and the makers of the film should approach her. She added that she separates her professional life from her personal one. Shahid had always maintained that he had no qualms about starring with Kareena.

However, when Pankaj was asked about his intentions to cast Kareena for the film, she seemed surprised and said, “Who told you this? I am still writing the script. How can I think of casting actors before I have completed my script? I will further talk when we are ready to roll.”

When Shahid Kapoor was going strong with Kareena Kapoor his father Pankaj Kapoor had decided to cast the couple in Mausam. Kareena upon hearing this said that she had no problems starring opposite Shahid in any movie as she separates her professional life from her personal one. She added that the only thing she would look for is a good script and a good role for herself. Shahid had always maintained that he had no qualms about starring with Kareena. Seems like the audience will soon get to see Shahid and Kareena romance together even if it is just on-screen.
