Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has turned his hobby into a full time job which is to direc ads.

He loves the challenge of telling a story in 60 seconds ,therefore he has started a separate ad division. The acclaimed filmmaker has now dedicated one new division for this.

And Raju has been doing well for himself as after getting Amitabh Bachchan, he has now roped in his 3 Idiots star Kareena Kapoor to direct her for a commercial. Raju, who has worked in big films with big stars, is certainly continuing the trend of roping in A-listers even in this sphere. Someone is definitely taking his new profession very seriously.

What Kareena Kapoor wants, Kareena Kapoor gets. When she was approached to endorse a snack ad last year, she said she’d do it if they got her Jab We Met director Imtiaz Ali to direct the ad film. Now she has okayed a cosmetic cream ad on the condition that her new favourite and 3 Idiots director Rajkumar Hirani shoots it.

Says a source, “Kareena loved working with Raju so much so that she has been recommending him even to the brands she endorses. Prahlad Kakkar was to direct the cosmetic cream ad film but the actress thought that Hirani was the best bet to make the ad, whose theme was Aal Izz Well.”

Kareena Kapoor, the sizzling hot Kapoor babe of bollywood who played lead role in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘3 Idiots’ and visited the poor weavers of Chanderi village in Madhya Pradesh, has contributed Rs 3 lakh towards establishing a solar plant for supplying electricity to villagers.

Kareena Kapoor had promised the villagers that she would do something after returning to Mumbai and this was result of that. In fact, Kareena Kapoor was moved when poor villagers gifted her a hand-woven saree on her visit to the place. The bollywood beauty could see that the weavers had been doing their work in dimly lit candles, which put their eyes at great strain.

The hot n’ happening Kareena Kapoor has quite a lot to reminisce on for the year 2009 beginning with her latest release 3 Idiots in which she was paired with the man of the moment, Aamir Khan. “Everyone in one voice thinks we look good together. Besides ‘3 Idiots’, there were only ten out of the 240 plus films made in Hindi during the year, which proved to be hits.

They were ‘Love Aaj Kal’, ‘Kaminey’, ‘All The Best’, ‘Wanted’, ‘De Dana Dan’, ‘New York’, ‘Wake Up Sid’, ‘Raaz- The Mystery Continues’, ‘Dev D’, ‘Paa’ and last but not the least ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’.

Applauding the cast and crew of recently released hit film 3 Idiots, a Malaysian film critic described director Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial venture as “one of the best from Bollywood”.

If you want to find fault with 3 Idiots, it should be the title – for its wrong connotation. It has an intelligent storyline with acting par excellence, critic K.N. Vijiyan wrote in his review in New Straits Times.

Don’t get the wrong idea from the film title. This is not an idiotic movie and is, in fact, one of the best from Bollywood. It makes you laugh, it makes you think. In some scenes, you may even shed a tear.

Aamir Khan can’t stop praising Kareena Kapoor’s acting skills and her looks. The actor says he couldn’t have asked for a better co-star than her for his forthcoming film “3 Idiots”.

“Kareena is outstanding… an instinctive actress, extremely committed, a team player… we get along well. And she’s good looking… what more can one ask for?” Aamir said in a press statement.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, “3 Idiots” also features Sharman Joshi and R. Madhavan. It is releasing Friday
