Kareena Kapoor talks about her personal and professional life as she completes 10 years in Bollywood

As for her films, there have been many memorable performances, and a few, not so. Kareena Kapoor opens up on how she has matured over the years, her ‘colourful’ journey, her relationships, and her much-awaited We Are Family. Excerpts…

You’ve completed 10 years in the industry. How has the journey been?

We met Kareena for a chat at Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence where she was beaming because of her newborn nephew and her week-long break to spend time with family. Kareena was surfing the net when we entered the tastefully done apartment. Saif left for some shopping when the interview began and came back later for a casual chat

• How is life now that you have become a maasi for the second time?
Absolutely amazing. The baby boy (Kiaan) is really cute. Samaria looks so much like Sunjay (Kapur) but the newborn looks just like Karisma. It’s celebration time as the family has a boy after a long time.

So 3 Idiots is a beautiful pulp fiction based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller ‘Five point Someone’. And let me say… it is not just ‘loosely-based’ on it, but maximum sequences and some dialogues are derived directly from the book.

Kareena Kapoor seems to be so fond of Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan that she can’t stop lavishing praise on him.

Kareena, who will be seen with Aamir in ‘3 Idiots’ by Raju Hirani is keen to do one more film with him.

“Aamir is a cinematic genius. We must do at least one more film together, very soon. Aamir takes a long time to make up his mind about projects. I keep telling him that by the time he decides to make this romantic film with me, my niece Samaira will be ready for stardom,” Kareena was quoted by ‘Mumbai Mirror’ as saying.
