Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor are the new friends in town. They are seen bonding at restaurants and catching up once in a way. We wonder, however, what they do about a thread that links them in a unique way.

You see, Kareena Kapoor, who happens to be Shahid Kapoor’s ex-girlfriend is also Ranbir Kapoor’s cousin sister. Doesn’t that make things awkward between the two? A common friend informs us, “First, even though Ranbir and Kareena are cousins, they weren’t ever close. Also, Shahid and Kareena are a thing of the past. Both seem to have moved on well. Shahid and Ranbir both are mature individuals and it’s a kind of understanding between them that they don’t talk about Kareena. Besides, the two boys have much else to talk about – from bikes and gadgets to films and sport. So Bebo is a well avoided topic between them.”

I’ve heard some very interesting dope on the ongoing Imran Khan-Ranbir Kapoor rivalry, announced Sher Lock Holmes as he strolled in. What about it, I wonder and he says that actor Kareena Kapoor just couldn’t stop praising her co-actor in her next romcom, Short Term Shaadi, for Karan Johar’s production house. “I’ve always said that Imran is a superstar of the next generation,” my super sleuth recalls the Kapoor kudi saying in an interview recently.

Bollywood beauties Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are in the run for Cosmopolitan Magazine’s fun, fearless awards, to be held in Mumbai Saturday.

The three actresses are competing in Fun, Fearless Female All Time Reader’s Choice Award this year.

Other categories include – Fun, Fearless Power Couple award, for which the nominees are – Kareena Kapoor-Saif Ali Khan; Hrithik Roshan-Sussanne Khan and Arbaaz Khan-Malaika Arora Khan.

There is also a Fun, Fearless Male 2010 Reader’s Choice Award, and Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Salman Khan, and Arjun Rampal are competing for the title in this category.

The event, in its third edition now, takes place annually in India, Britain and the US.

“The Fun, Fearless Female Awards is a cult, one-of-its-kind event that celebrates all that’s iconic of the Cosmo woman – her attitude, drive, and the never-say-never spirit,” Nandini Bhalla, editor of Cosmopolitan, said in a press statement.

The organisers are expecting a star-studded turnout at the event Saturday at the Taj Land’s End, Mumbai.

“The response has been tremendous – from readers, Bollywood favourites, and the industry. The Fun Fearless Awards are a pat on the back to women (and some special men) from different areas of life-acting, music, theatre, and more.

“Last year’s awards saw a great turnout – Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, and more. And this year’s awards promise to be bigger, better, and more Cosmo than ever,” said Mala Sekhri, chief operating officer, Lifestyle Magazines, India Today Group.

‘Koffee with Karan’ Season 3 is turning out to be a quite frothy with every passing episode. It seems Karan’s coffee has quite an effect on the guests as each one is ready to spill the beans with the slightest of provocations from the host.

Thus after having Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor, and Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan, this week it was the hot couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, who were at their candid best on the hot couch! Saif and Kareena had an almost no holds chat session with Karan who was at his wits end with most answers were shot back by the couple.

Saif and Kareena spelt class and panache with their designer wear in the right perspective as they both looked stunning. All talks have now gathered around the size zero frame of the petite Katrina. In fact, she is being hailed as the new titleholder of size zero; something that she has successfully stolen from Kareena.
Kareena, of course, is basking in her curvier figure these days (she has finally put on some meat) and it’s a slimmer Katrina who is the new centre of all attraction. Kareena Kapoor has always said that she would love to act with her cousin Ranbir Kapoor someday. The actress has already watched Saawariya and Anjaana Anjaani, but laments that they have not been approached with a subject as yet. “I hope someone will approach us with the right kind of script. I would love to work with Ranbir as he’s such a fine actor. I hope I get an opportunity to work with him soon,” she said recently.
We now hear that the Kapoor cousins will soon come together. No, no, don’t get your hopes up yet. they haven’t signed a film together. They will be seen on the small screen for now — if all goes according to plan — on K Jo’s chat show as Karan Johar is all set with his third season of Koffee With Karan. Unit sources inform that Karan has approached the brother-sister duo for an episode on the chat show. If Kareena and Ranbir Kapoor both agree, it will definitely be something to watch out for. This will be the first time that the Kapoor cousins will be appearing in the same space. Only hope Karan manages to get the two of them on the show.

Kareena Kapoor says she hasn’t been doing good roles because she knows she is a good actress and doesn’t have to prove it to anyone.

Loud mouth Kareena, who turned 30 in September, made her histrionic brag in an interview with CNN IBN after host Rajiv Masand observed that Kareena’s ambitions appear to have changed.

Masand quizzed her on why she was going for big ticket movies such as RA.One, Agent Vinod and Bodyguard, instead of seeking challenging roles such as the ones that she did in Chameli, Dev and Omkara.

“Everyone knows that I am a good actor. I have proved it time and again. I can always come back to those kinds of roles,” Kareena replied without a trace of humility.

Bebo went on to explain that talent doesn’t matter these days. At the end of the day what matters is the box office success or failure of a film.

“How many people are concerned about an actress’ talent? Let’s be honest here.”

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor were spotted watching Ranbir Kapoor’s latest film Anjaana Anjaani before its worldwide release at a special screening in Mumbai.

The couple arrived together in a car, accompanied by Saif’s two kids Sarah and Ibrahim.

Kareena and Saif’s kids are not really known to bond like a family. But they were quite comfortable in each other’s company.

Manish is the costume designer for ANJAANA ANJAANI. ‘All the outfits that you saw on the ramp were worn in the film. Looking at the models, I was remembering all the scenes from the film in which we wore them. Even the ghagra choli, jacket and sneakers that I’m wearing now are from a scene in the film in which I’m running and have to reach somewhere,’ said the vivacious actress.
Priyanka had butterflies in her stomach before she walked the ramp. ‘I was extremely nervous. Ramp is something else only. Everyone was guiding me about it. But we had a ball on the ramp.’
