I’d love to make films for Kareena and my sister Soha, he says

After “Being Cyrus”, actor-producer Saif Ali Khan is all set to come together with Homi Adajania for a period film.

“But not right away. We’ll be doing it next year. I’ll produce a film and it’s not really a period film. It would be a period film, but it won’t feel like one,” Saif told IANS.

“By that I mean it’d be very contemporary in terms of actions and emotions. But in order to make those actions and emotions credible, the plot will be set in the past. Part of my character might have some Thugi traits. But I don’t play a thug, as defined in the history books.”

Actor Saif Ali Khan may have had to cancel his big birthday bash, but he is happy that his 38th birthday on Saturday coincides with the festival of Raksha Bandhan as his two sisters celebrate the festival in a big way.

“There’s no one in town! All my friends from the industry are not here. In fact I had spoken to Shah Rukh (Khan). He had promised to fly back to Mumbai for my birthday. Very sweet of him.”

But the superstar couldn’t make it and Saif says he’ll miss his parents too.

Kareena’s playing Saif for beau’s birthday

August 20th, 2008

It’s Saif Ali Khan’s 38th birthday on August 16, and girlfriend Kareena is planning the celebrations.

Kareena, who’s back in Mumbai after a long shooting stint abroad, initially wanted something grand. But considering what happened at Katrina’s “grand” party on July 16, she chose not to. Moreover, with Shah Rukh and Salman at war, drawing up a politically correct guest list would have been a big challenge.

So as per the known plans, a small party it will be, with just family and close friends. Unless, of course, Bebo pulls up a surprise grand party!

Dino Morea and Kareena Kapoor bonded well when they shot the ICI Dulux Velvet Touch paint ad in Rajasthan with Karan Johar last year. “Karan played the lead with Kareena while I was just the silent producer. I made her promise that if and when I produce a film she’d have to be my co-star. I never knew the director for my first feature film would have the same idea,” Dino told reporters.

It’s a season of spats in Bollywood!

August 17th, 2008

Minus RanDeep - tagged as Bollywood’s current ‘it’ couple with their public lip-lock grabbing eye-balls recently, the rest of tinsel town is singing strains of separation. It’s the season of spats for most of Bollywood.

Right from the much publicised love stories of Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif, Harman Baweja-Priyanka Chopra and Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor to the hush-hush liaisons of Shilpa Shetty-Raj Kundra and Soha Ali Khan-Siddharth - most couples seem to be treading the path to splitsville.

Look, I’m in love…

When Rishi Kapoor — the chocolate boy of Bollywood belted out ‘khullam khulla pyaar karenge hum dono’ to a cherubic Neetu Singh in the 1975 blockbuster Khel Khel Mein, little did he anticipate it would become an anthem for Bollywood’s beaus — amongst them his own son — almost three decades later.

In the age of instant gratification lubricated by the invasive gaze of reality television, million-buck endorsements and spill-your-guts-out chat shows, filmi love affairs no longer masquerade under a clandestine cocoon. And yet all is never what it seems. In the game of truth or dare between stars and their subjects, the real winner, says director Mahesh Bhatt is the ‘peeping tom audience.’

Kareena the cook!

August 15th, 2008

Kareena Kapoor has a secret and it has finally come out. Supposedly she is a very good chef. She proved her cooking prowess on the set of her new film Golmaal Returns when she cooked healthy low calorie meals for the entire cast.

Tusshar Kapoor said, “Very few are aware that Kareena is a great cook. She hit the kitchen when we were in Goa and made awesome South Indian food for us. Her specialty is Paneer Tikka. She put me, Ajay Devgan, Amrita Arora and Arshad Warsi on this diet.”

A sneak-peek at ‘just friends’ of filmdom!

August 10th, 2008

Can a young boy and girl be just ‘good friends’? Can a relationship between a male and female strictly be platonic? This is a dicey question and has always been a cause of much debate. But what makes the question all the more intriguing is the big bad world of celebrities, who make it very difficult to decipher whether their ‘just friends’ relationship is actually restricted to being that or the tag is being used as a garb to hide a sizzling clandestine romance.
