Kareena Kapoor doesn’t believe in forgive and forget. She has still not forgiven Priyanka Chopra for her proximity to her ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor, after they split. There were constant rumours in the industry about their alleged cold war. And now the war has become even bitter.

According to reports, Bebo indirectly expressed her displeasure with Priyanka as she chose Katrina over the former Miss World. Recently, on Karan Johar’s talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’, she was asked to choose between the two beauties.

Kareena Kapoor immediately replied that she would choose Katrina over Priyanka. It should be known that her present beau Saif Ali Khan is shooting two-three films with PC in the coming months. But that hasn’t made Bebo change her preference.

Earlier, the two warring beauties were quite friendly while shooting ‘Aitraaz’ but the equation changed after rumours of Priyanka and Shahid Kapoor made the rounds. And now the war has escalated.

Let’s see how Bebo would digest Priyanka’s onscreen proximity with latest beau Saif Ali Khan!

The Kareena Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra war has escalated. Recently on Koffee With Karan, Bebo was asked who would she choose between PC and Katrina Kaif.

And Bebo is said to have picked Kat over PC. It is also known that Saif Ali Khan will be doing two-three films with PC in the coming months. This will naturally mean that Kareena will have to break the ice with her.

Incidentally, when they were shooting Aitraaz, Bebo and Priyanka managed to get along well. This rift in their relationship only came after rumours of Priyanka and Shahid Kapoor made the rounds. Guess if Shahid steps out, PC and Bebo will be friends again.

INSPIRED by the 2001 romantic comedy Serendipity, Milenge, Milenge (“We will meet, we will meet”) teams Bollywood hunk Shahid Kapoor and the sexy Kareena Kapoor in their fifth film together.
Priya Malhotra (Kareena Kapoor) is an orphan who hopes to have a family of her own and keeps a diary outlining her dreams and the type of man she wants to meet.
Her friend Honey’s (Delnaaz Paul) mom, a tarot reader, predicts she will go to a foreign land and find the love of her life in seven days. She is pleasantly surprised when she is selected to go to a Youth Festival in Bangkok.
Amit “Immy” Singh (Shahid Kapoor), a fun-loving party animal who is everything Priya does not want in a man, also ends up in Bangkok. Immy and his friend break into the girls’ dorm and while they are being chased by a matron, Immy enters Priya’s room and is struck by her beauty.
He steals her diary and makes a copy. Knowing exactly what she wants, he pursues her and they fall in love, but their happiness is shattered when Priya finds her diary in Immy’s room.
The couple break up despite Immy’s protests because he has really fallen in love with her. Priya decides to test destiny and asks Immy to write his full name on a fifty rupee note and buys a book on numerology with it.
She writes her full name and phone number in the book and gives it to a second-hand bookshop. She feels if destiny meant them to be together they would find the note and the book again and each other.
Fast-forward three years and Immy is a changed man. He returns from America to an arranged marriage to the stunning Sohhiya (Aarti Chhabria) but decides to make a last-ditch attempt to find the book .
Meanwhile, Priya has also reluctantly agreed to marry someone she does not love.
In typical Bollywood fashion both weddings are scheduled for the same hotel. While it will not win any awards Milenge Milenge is a fun movie with excellent songs and lots of English dialogue.
In real life Shahid and Kareena Kapoor were an item for three years before splitting up. The chemistry is still evident in the movie.
Kareena has received five Filmfare awards. Her melodrama Kabhi Khushi Kabkie Gham became India’s highest grossing film in the overseas market in 2001.

Ok, so the makers of ‘Milenge Milenge’ have led everyone to believe that their film is a success. While some may argue that how a film that nets just a little over 10 crores in its first week could be termed as a success in today’s time, especially since it stars top players like Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, producer Boney Kapoor has a strong reasoning. After all, the film was made on a medium budget half a decade back and even if one counted the interest, the ROI (return on investment) has been gladdening.

No, this doesn’t by any means indicate that the film is one of those hits that its actors would be extremely proud. Well, even if they want to be, they can’t since they didn’t promote the film. Ironical, isn’t it, since for Shahid this film has turned out to be his second consecutive success after ‘Badmaash Company’? Of course the film isn’t sustaining at the box office on the same lines as ‘Badmaash Company’ and has taken a fall but still the money earned is in a decent enough range to kept it’s investors smiling.

A few months back, the makers of Himesh Reshammiya starrer ‘Radio’ too had proclaimed their film to be an investment hit since they had presumably recovered their entire investment before the release. Though the film had done poor business at the box office, the producers were supposed to be in green. However, the distributors did loose money. This is not the case with ‘Milenge Milenge’ though since Boney Kapoor himself is the distributor as well which ensures that no one looses money eventually.

However, money has been lost in case of ‘Red Alert – The War Within’ which is the case of a good effort going unnoticed. Theatrical failure of this Ananth Mahadevan directed film makes one wonder if audience can really be enticed to get into theaters when told explicitly that X film is based on a real life issue. It seems that they automatically detach themselves from such films and wait for it to arrive on home video or satellite rather than spending their hard earned money on something which doesn’t give them their dose of escapist entertainment. This has been seen even in a commercial set up like ‘Kurbaan’ that boasted of the likes of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. This mistake wasn’t committed by the makers of ‘New York’ who never sold the film as an ‘issue based film about innocent people being lodged in US jails’. Or for that matter a small effort like ‘A Wednesday’ who actually sold the film as a plain and simple thriller about a few hours rather than something which would open up a can of worms. Point to ponder?

With the film barely managing to complete a week at the box office and hardly in the running in the second week, ‘Red Alert – The War Within’ would have to live with the fact that it got great reviews and appreciation for Mahadevan and Suniel Shetty but no moolah!

Boney Kapoor’s Milenge Milenge hit the theatres on July 9. And the one reason why Shahid Kapoor-Kareena Kapoor fans won’t want to miss this flick is because this will probably have the pair together for the last time.

The last time the duo came together in Jab We Met, they created some awesome magic on screen. Director Satish Kaushik who can’t stop praising the two actors, says, “People want to see them together after Jab We Met. The whole thing about finding one’s true love is a very thrilling thought. The thought of looking for your love is what has kept romantic films so much in demand. And frankly, romance never goes out of fashion,” he says.

Besides this movie bringing back Kareena and Shahid on screen once again, it has some unique moments. Like Shahid dressing up as a girl. Even more special is Kareena’s tribute to her grandfather — the legendary showman Raj Kapoor.
Kareena, who has often confessed that she is a huge fan of her grandfather’s movies, got a chance to perform on the famous Mera joota hai Japani number from Shree 420. Director Satish Kaushik, who came up with idea, praises the Kapoor girl, saying, “She is so hardworking and an absolute professional. But beyond that she is crazy about movies,” he says.

The movie is a love story where a guy and a girl fall in love, but then part ways. However, destiny has some other plans in store for this made-for-each-other couple. The journey of these two lovers ensures that the movie maintains it’s pace. Kaushik says, “One of the reasons why this movie works is because it has a fast pace. In fact, I can say that this is the most fast-paced movie I have made. The audience travels along with the characters.” And who wouldn’t want to be a part of this jodi’s romantic ride, especially when it could be the last one.

Today, if a new film starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor would have been announced, it would have made a huge noise for sure. However, that is missing in case of Milenge Milenge because the stars themselves are not quite leading from the front for the film’s promotion. Shahid Kapoor is in UK shooting for Mausam while Kareena Kapoor is off to Morocco to complete a quick schedule for Agent Vinod. Incidentally, both these films are their home productions.

With no stars available for the film’s promotion, it has indeed been quite some effort for producers Boney Kapoor and director Satish Kaushik to ready the film for release, six years after it was launched. No wonder, the trade can’t be expected to be abuzz with much excitement and the film is only being looked at as a gamble. Around half a decade back, when Hum Tumhaare Hai Sanam (Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit) was released after a similar delay, it had still managed to do good business at the box office. It was surprising for sure and all one can hope this week is good for the surprise factor to help Milenge Milenge as well.

The fact remains though that the film can’t really be expected to take the kind of opening that would make it safe on the first day itself. Anything more than 50% would be a happy situation for the makers here though the question is whether such occupancy is possible, especially because I Hate Luv Storys is doing well. Still, star value coupled with some good music could result in Milenge Milenge turning out to be a face saver at the least.

The other release of the week, Red Alert – The War Within, hasn’t been promoted adequately despite its topic theme (Naxal issue in the country) and the critical acclaim it has received internationally. Ready for quite some time now, the film had all the time in the world to have made use of some good marketing strategy being put to effective use and a good promotional drive taking it through. However, the makers surprisingly chose to stay low which means it would be a miracle if the film holds on. Don’t quite expect an opening of sorts here though critical acclaim could well come in for this Ananth Mahadevan directed film.

As per the promos running across channels, the makers of this film are hell bent on bringing Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor back together with its ‘Forgive and Forget’ theme.

Whether they will ‘meet’ in ‘real’ life is their personal call but will the film ‘meet’ people’s expectations? Our in-house expert and very own celebrity astro numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi unravels the mystery. Here goes the prediction:-

“The title Milenge Milenge adds up to Number 52 (7) – this octave of Number 7 is an unfortunate number. It is symbolized by the signs of revolution, upheaval, strife, failure, prevention and is not a fortunate number if it comes out in calculations relating to future events,” explains Bhavikk.

He continues, “No wonder the film took so long in the making and could not be released even after it was ready for a while.”

“About the much talked about pair, Shahid is running in his 30th year (25th February 1981) which is just about average phase for him while Kareena who’s also of the same age is in much better position, luck-wise,” says Bhavikk.

“But their combination being Numbers 3 (Jupiter) and 7 (Neptune), is not good at all and hence their ‘chemistry’ will fail to light up the screen on fire. With such a basic ingredient (a must for any love story) lacking in the movie, there is absolutely no chance of this film working at the box office,” predicts Bhavikk before signing off.

‘They are back together,’ is what the promos of the film Milenge Milenge says for Kareena and Shahid . But guess that Boney Kapoor forgot to add the word ‘onscreen’ with the above sentence. These written promo may arouse excitement among the viewers, but has hurt Kareena Kapoor. This obviously proves that Kareena is trying hard to avoid her ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor.

Though the actress has moved on from her split with Shahid, she gets the feeling that the line ‘They Are Back Together’ hints that she and Shahid are back together again, dating. Moreover, the song ‘Kuchh Toh Baaki Hai’ (something still remains) gives the impression that she and Shahid are pining to patch up.

The shooting of Milenge Milenge came to a standstill when Bebo and Shahid broke up, and as a result it kept getting delayed. Directed by Satish Kaushik and produced by Boney Kapoor, the movie is now ready to hit the theatres, after five years, on July 9.

The actress who has high regard for the producer Boney Kapoor, not only dubbed for the film but also did a photo shoot and a music video that is being used for the promotion of the film nowadays. Naturally, after doing so much for the once-shelved film, the promo came as a shock for her.

But that’s the way things go in Bollywood.
