Lover, friends and now foes. Shahid and Kareena have entered into a cold war. After dumping him almost a year a go Bebo is making sure that Shahid is never cast opposite her.

When Imtiaz Ali, director of Jab we Met, approched Bebo for another project with former beau Shahid she expressed her discomfort quite clearly and asked him to replace him with someone else. Finally Akki was offered the role and he happily accepted.

Mumbai: Fresh from the success of Jab We Met, Shahid Kapoor is all set with Kismet Konnection, which will hit theatres this Friday. CNN-IBN’s entertainment editor Rajeev Masand quizzed him on his films and of course the much talked about link-ups.

CNN-IBN: Your new look is for Vishal Bharadwaj’s film called Kameenay. It is a very interesting title. What can you tell us?

Shahid Kapoor: Nothing actually. We have just started shooting for the film. It is a very interesting film. Yes I think Kameenay is the working title of the film as of now. I don’t know if Vishal would want to retain it for the film. It is something different.

But once on line, he makes up  for all the wait… “I’m really sorry. It’s been crazy in the last couple of weeks.” And all this explanation for genuinely being busy promoting his recently released Aziz Mirza flick. Didn’t we say Shahid is a charmer!

But recluse as he may be called, once on for an interview, Shahid ensures he leaves no question unanswered, as he gets candid in an exclusive chat…

The Jab We Met team is all set for another film, but Shahid Kapur is not there in it.
Finally, Kareena Kapoor has her way. She had expressed her disappointment when Imtiaz Ali chose Deepika Padukone over her for his next film starring Saif Ali Khan . The loss of the film was disheartening to Bebo since it also happens to be Saif’s first home production.

Rumours also spoke about a definite fallout between Bebo and Imtiaz – that the things had soured between them and the duo won’t ever work again.

is the man of the moment. After the refreshingly young Jab We Met and many controversies later, he’s back with Kismat Konnection, which is set to release this weekend. We catch up with the star, at the TIPS office at Khar, dressed in the classic combo of a white shirt and blue jeans, his hair slightly longer, Shahid looks slimmer than before. But definitely more ‘serious.’

I miss the lively Shahid Kapoor of two years back. Lately in your interviews, you come across as a very serious person. What happened?

Shahid Kapur’s new dance track ‘Aye Paapi Tu hai meri soniye’ is the flavor of the youth and is rocking the charts these days. Only a few days back, ‘Pappu can’t dance’ dominated the scene. While we know that ‘Pappu can’t dance ..’ was based on Salman Khan in Imraan Khan’s debut , we wonder who Shahid is referring to in his new song. This is a mystery.

Kareena Kapoor has reportedly kicked out Shahid Kapoor from her forthcoming film. The two are not on talking terms with each other ever since Kareena ‘divorced’ him after a long and eventful relation ship.

Kareena is now dating Saif Ali Khan, a leading Bollywood actor who comes from a big family.

Director Imtiaz Ali had proposed to cast Shahid Kapoor opposite Kareena hoping that he would be able to recreate the magic that was created during a hugely successful film ‘Jab We Met’. Unfortunately for the duo the two actors were never able to enjoy the success of the film as both separated when the film was to be released.

Shahid Kapoor’s Kismat Konnection is releasing today. Will it be able to recreate the magic of his last film Jab We Met with ex-girlfriend?

Even as everyone speculates on that and his new onscreen pairing with the charming Vidya Balan. Shahid gets candid with NDTV’s Sreenivasan Jain on Kareena Kapoor and life post break up.

NDTV: You guys (with Kareena) are just good friends, if we borrow that phrase.

Shahid: You are talking about me and Kareena. Not really, honestly we are not in touch with each other. I guess this is something, which happens naturally.

Shahid Kapoor has no hard feelings in him when it comes to doing films with Kareena Kapoor. In fact, he is even open to working with Kareena Kapoor, who broke-up with him to romance Saif Ali Khan. Anyway Shaahid had the image of a cool-headed guy and now he just seems to have proved it. At a recent interview he made his intentions clear. He said, “If I am offered a film opposite her (Kareena) and it’s an interesting project, I will be open to doing it. Beyond that it’s upon the producers and directors to decide if they want to offer us a film together.”

It’s not Vidya Balan. Neither is it Sania Mirza. Nor is it Amrita Rao. It’s someone else that Shahid Kapoor is in love with these days – himself. He opens up in a freewheeling talk with Hindustan Times. “It’s my life, it’s not a contest. And it’s certainly not funny to have just any name attached to mine. I’m a normal guy who goes out for dinners and lunches with others. But that doesn’t mean that it should become breaking news and a matter of analysis,” says Shahid.
