Kapoor, is facing neck-to-neck competition for the ‘Leading Role Female’ actress award at the 12th Annual International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) ceremony scheduled to be held in Toronto June 23-25.
Apart from Bollywood’s other top two beauties – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Katrina Kaif – Kapoor is also facing tough rivalry from Vidya Balan and newcomer Anushka Sharma.

Kapoor has been nominated for her unusual tomboyish character in Rohit Shetty’s romantic comedy thriller Golmaal 3.

The film’s earlier two serials were also hits at the box office and liked all around the world for its different but extraordinary comedy.

Kareena Kapoor will break the jinx on leading ladies being a part of Bollywood sequels. In fact Bipasha Basu had recently commented on this regressive trend of getting fresh female faces for every sequel after she was declared out of Race. She had even threatened to ‘kill’ Rohit Shetty if he didn’t sign her for All The Best 2.

Rohit Shetty isn’t sure if he’s been scared by the mock-threat into signing Bipasha for the All The Best 2 in 2011.

But Kareena Kapoor is back in Gol Maal 3 which starts shooting in April 2010 and will be release next year Diwali.

It is not easy to convince audience the credibility of sequences in any movie, especially if it is a fiction. But Raju Hirani does it resourcefully. So 3 Idiots is a beautiful pulp fiction based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller ‘Five point Someone’. And let me say… it is not just ‘loosely-based’ on it, but maximum sequences and some dialogues are derived directly from the book.

Aamir Khan can’t stop praising Kareena Kapoor’s acting skills and her looks. The actor says he couldn’t have asked for a better co-star than her for his forthcoming film “3 Idiots”.

“Kareena is outstanding… an instinctive actress, extremely committed, a team player… we get along well. And she’s good looking… what more can one ask for?” Aamir said in a press statement.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, “3 Idiots” also features Sharman Joshi and R. Madhavan. It is releasing Friday

Aamir Khan, the perfectionist Khan with a boyish charm to his personality who plays an engineering student in Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming flick ‘3 Idiots’ opposite sizzling hot Kareena Kapoor, has shot for a wet dance number in the film.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Aamir and Kareena has shown such a hot chemistry between them under artificial rain that Saif Ali Khan’s longest kiss in Rensil D’Silva’s upcoming flick ‘Kurbaan’ looks pale. Those in the know of things say that Aamir Khan had especially prepared himself for the number with Kareena Kapoor and the result is there for all to see.

It’s not every day that a star readily agrees to be kept out of a film’s promotion. But Kareena Kapoor is not cut up about not featuring in the first posters of Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots that will make their appearance around the country on Sunday.

A source from the unit tells us that along with producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, director Hirani has been regularly discussing the concept with Aamir Khan and Kareena for the last couple of months. And it was decided that since the campus caper basically revolves around three guys (played by Aamir, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi) and was titled 3 Idiots, Kareena should be kept out, despite playing an equally important role.

3 Idiots which stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi is based on the lives of three B-school students who discover the meaning of life through each other. The film has the trademark Hirani humour and while it holds no similarities to the famed Munnabhai series, it gives out a meaningful message in the end. The film has been tagged as one of Hirani’s best to come and the lead actors have only just taken 3 Idiots to an all new level.
