Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor had earlier expressed her wish to act with her big sister Karisma Kapoor but not in the much-hyped film We Are Family. She thinks that Karisma can’t play the role played by Kajol.

The actress who’s stepping into the shoes of Hollywood superstar Julia Roberts says that her character is written very differently from Roberts, and there are no similarities between the two characters. “We Are Family might be the remake of Stepmom, but there are no similarities with Julia Roberts. Comparisons are obvious though.”

Kareena Kapoor is quite proud to be a part of We Are Family. “We Are Family is the remake of the Hollywood film Stepmom,” said Kareena. “It is a big honour for me that I am part of this film and that they have taken me for the role which was played by Julia Roberts.”

“Normally, we in Bollywood – and in India – copy Hollywood films, but we never admit it. But this is an official remake. So whether you call it Stepmom or We Are Family, both are the same.”

We Are Family that is directed by Siddharth Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar will be starring Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in lead roles. The movie is supposed to be a copy of the hit American comedy-drama film “Stepmom”.

According to Bollywood Hungama the movie will be coming out in September of year 2010. The movie will be coming in Hindi but in case you want to watch the movie in Marathi then there is already a version available.

Stepmom’s Marathi version that was released in 2008. The movie’s name was Tuzya Mazyat and starred Sachin Khedekar, Mrunal Kulkarni, Sulekha Talwalkar and Mohan Joshi.

Producer Karan Johar’s movie We Are Family – a remake of the 1998 Hollywood flick Stepmom – brings together the blockbuster ’sister’ pair from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham; Kareena Kapoor and Kajol.

The Hindi remake of Stepmom also features Arjun Rampal as John Abraham turned down the role. Kajol, one of KJo’s favorite actresses, will play the role of the terminally ill mother, which was originally portrayed by Hollywood actress Susan Sarandon. Kareena will be taking on the role of Julia Roberts, who played the stepmother in the original critically-acclaimed film.
